  1. The Glow of the Starflower
  2. In the Land of Always-Bright, there lived a tiny fairy named Iolanthe. She had wings that shimmered like soap bubbles. Every morning, Iolanthe flew to the giant sunflowers. She tapped their petals with her little stick to wake them up. "Wake up, sleepy flowers!" she whispered with a sprinkle of stardust.
  3. Down on the green grass, Ember the Dragon was practicing his puffs. Ember had a cute, sleek face like a friendly lizard and big, bright eyes. He was not a scary dragon. He loved the smell of cinnamon. He tried to blow a big fire, but only a tiny, warm "poof" of golden smoke came out. "Poof!" went Ember, wagging his tail.
  4. Iolanthe flew down to see her best friend, Prism the Unicorn. Prism was as white as a cloud, and her horn glowed with rainbow colors. "Oh, Prism!" Iolanthe cried. "The Star-Seed is lost in the prickly thorns! If we don't find it, the meadow will lose its sparkle." Prism tilted her head and listened carefully.
  5. Prism was very brave. "We will find it together," she said. Just then, Ember waddled over. He wanted to help his friends. The three friends started their walk toward the dark woods. The air felt a little chilly, but they held their heads high.
  6. They found the Star-Seed! It was a tiny, glowing stone trapped inside sharp, purple thorns. Iolanthe tried to reach it, but the thorns were too close. "I can't get in," she sighed. Ember looked at the prickly vines. He was a little bit scared, but he knew he had to be brave for his friends.
  7. Prism stepped up to help Ember. "Don't be afraid," she whispered. "I will bring the light." Prism’s rainbow horn began to shine very bright. The warm light pushed the shadows away. Ember felt Prism’s courage and took a big, deep breath. He wanted to keep the little seed warm.
  8. Ember leaned close to the thorns and gave his gentlest "poof." A soft, golden mist flowed from his snout. Because Ember was being so kind, the magic worked! The sharp thorns began to soften. They turned into smooth, curly ribbons. Iolanthe zipped through the gap to reach the seed.
  9. Prism watched with a happy heart. The magic was growing because they were brave and kind. "You did it!" Prism cheered. She stood proudly on her four white legs as the ground began to grow tiny, singing flowers. The dark woods didn't feel scary anymore; they felt like a dream.
  10. Iolanthe tucked the Star-Seed into some soft moss. Ember gave one last, warm puff of golden air. Suddenly, a giant Starflower grew up, up, up! It was as tall as the castle. It rained down sparkly glitter on the whole land. "It's beautiful!" Iolanthe chirped, dancing in the light.
  11. The Land of Always-Bright was more magical than ever. Ember learned that his tiny "poof" was very powerful because it came from a kind heart. As the sun began to set, the friends walked home together. They knew that whenever they were brave and kind, the world would always sparkle.
