Read the words of the story
  1. The Silver Moon’s Hug
  2. The sun has gone to rest behind the hills, and the world is turning quiet. Outside the window, a big, round moon begins to glow. Luma stands by the glass, watching the sky turn a deep, soft blue.
  3. The moon sends a long, silver beam into the room. It touches the floor, the rug, and Luma’s favorite friend, Barnaby the Bear. Soft moonlight, silver and deep. It is time for little Luma to go to sleep.
  4. Luma puts on her favorite pajamas. They are fuzzy and warm, like a gentle hug from a cloud. One button, two buttons, tucked in tight. Luma is getting ready for the quiet night.
  5. Luma climbs into her big, soft bed. She pulls the heavy quilt all the way up to her chin. She makes a little nest for Barnaby right next to her. Soft moonlight, silver and deep. It is time for little Luma to go to sleep.
  6. Shhh. Listen to the house. The clock goes tick-tock, tick-tock. The wind whispers softly through the trees outside. Everything is safe, and everything is still.
  7. High above, the tiny stars begin to twinkle. They look like little nightlights watching over the world. Luma watches them through the window and feels very small and very brave.
  8. Luma whispers a soft "goodnight" to her room. Goodnight, yellow chair. Goodnight, wooden floor. Goodnight, sleepy shoes by the door. Soft moonlight, silver and deep. It is time for little Luma to go to sleep.
  9. The bed is so warm. The pillow is so soft. Luma feels like she is floating on a gentle boat in a sea of dreams. She knows she is safe in her cozy room.
  10. Barnaby the Bear is sleepy too. Luma gives him one last squeeze and closes her eyes. The silver moon watches over them both, keeping the room bright and calm.
  11. The world is whispering "sleep tight." Luma breathes in and breathes out, slow and steady. Deep in the warmth of her blankets, she falls fast asleep. Soft moonlight, silver and deep. Now little Luma is finally asleep.
